Choose the Right Mesh Grade
Look for 0.35 mm square holes or smaller. That dimension blocks green peach aphids, the thinnest species at 0.4 mm across the thorax.
Hold the fabric to a 100-watt bulb. If you see pinpoints of light, the weave is too open. A solid glow means even first-instar nymphs cannot penetrate.
Mesh labelled “No-See-Um” usually meets this spec, but verify with a jeweller’s loupe. Retailers often lump mosquito netting in the same category, and mosquito mesh is three times coarser.
Test Before You Buy
